Email notifications about the folder quota are not configured
Applies To: Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard
Problem Email notifications about the folder quota are not configured.
Cause If you exceed the folder quota, File Server Resource Manager (FSRM) does not send email notifications.
Solution To resolve this issue, you must manually configure FSRM to send email notifications.
Note
You must be a domain administrator to complete this procedure.
Verify that Exchange Server 2010 is correctly installed on the server. To do this, ensure that a network user can send and receive email and that the services for Exchange Server 2010 are running, as follows:
Note
If Exchange Server 2010 was not installed on the server during the Windows SBS 2011 Standard installation, see Windows SBS 2011 Troubleshooting and Support.
Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services.
In the tree pane, click Services.
In the details pane, verify that the following services are listed:
Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service
Microsoft Exchange Anti-spam Update
Microsoft Exchange File Distribution
Microsoft Exchange Information Store
Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission
Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Assistants
Microsoft Exchange Replication
Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer
Microsoft Exchange Service Host
Microsoft Exchange System Attendant
Microsoft Exchange Transport
Microsoft Exchange Transport Log Search
Note
If any of these services are not listed, see Windows SBS 2011 Troubleshooting and Support.
Click each of the services listed in the previous step, and then verify that the service is Started. If the service is not started, right-click the service, and then click Start.
Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click File Server Resource Manager.
In the User Account Control window, click Continue.
On the File Server Resource Manager console, in the Actions pane, click Configure Options.
On the E-mail Notifications tab, do the following:
In the SMTP Server name or IP address text box, the server name is added by default. However, because of this installation error, this field may be blank. If you are not using the default Exchange Server 2010 installation in Windows SBS 2011 Standard, change this field to a specific SMTP address.
In the Default administrator recipients text box, type fsrmreports@<DomainName> (for example, fsrmreports@contoso.com).
Click OK to save the changes.
