Denies the specified set of permissions for the specified grantees on the instance of SQL Server.

Denies the specified set of permissions for the specified grantee and other users that the grantee granted the specified set of permissions on the instance of SQL Server.

System_CAPS_pubmethodDeny(ServerPermissionSet, String[])

Denies the specified set of permissions for the specified grantees on the instance of SQL Server.

System_CAPS_pubmethodDeny(ServerPermissionSet, String[], Boolean)

Denies the specified set of permissions for the specified grantees and other users that the grantee granted the specified set of permissions on the instance of SQL Server.

The Deny method has several overloads that give you a choice of whether to deny permissions to a single grantee or several grantees. You can also decide whether to include the Cascade option. The Cascade option determines whether the permissions that were denied by the grantees are also denied to other users.

Denies the specified set of permissions for the specified grantee on the instance of SQL Server.

permission
Type: Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.ServerPermissionSet

A ServerPermissionSet object value that specifies the set of permissions.

granteeName
Type: System.String

A String value that specifies the grantee to be denied the specified set of permissions on the instance of SQL Server.

Denies the specified set of permissions for the specified grantee and other users that the grantee granted the specified set of permissions on the instance of SQL Server.

A DatabasePermissionSet object value that specifies the set of permissions.

granteeName
Type: System.String

A String value that specifies the grantee to be denied the specified set of permissions on the instance of SQL Server.

cascade
Type: System.Boolean

A Boolean property that specifies whether users, to whom the grantee granted the specified set of permission, are also denied access to the specified set of permissions on the instance of SQL Server.

If True, the grantee and users to which the grantee granted the specified set of permissions are all denied the specified set of permissions.

If False, only the grantee is denied the specified set of permissions.
