How to: Change Printer Settings (Report Builder 1.0)

When printing a report, you can specify the number of copies to print and the page range, and change printer, paper, margin, and orientation options.

To select a printer

  1. In run mode, click the Print button on the Run toolbar.

    The Print dialog box opens.

  2. In the Select Printer box, select a printer.

    If the printer you want to use is not listed, then double-click Add Printer and follow the instructions in the Add Printer Wizard.

  3. Click OK. 

To specify the page range

  1. In run mode, click the Print button on the Run toolbar.

    The Print dialog box opens.

  2. In the Page Range area, select the page range option that you want to use.

  3. Click OK. 

To specify the number of copies to print

  1. In run mode, click the Print button on the Run toolbar.

    The Print dialog box opens.

  2. In the Number of copies area, type the number of copies you want.

  3. Click OK. 

To change the paper options

  1. In run mode, click the Page Setup button on the Run toolbar.

    The Page Setup dialog box opens.

  2. In the Paper area, click the Size arrow and then select the paper size.

  3. Optionally, in the Source list, select the printer tray that you want the printer to use when printing the report.

  4. Click OK. 

To change the print margins

  1. In run mode, click the Page Setup button on the Run toolbar.

    The Page Setup dialog box opens.

  2. In the Margins area, specify the margin dimensions that you want to use in the Left, Right, Top and Bottom boxes.

    Important

    By default, the margin specifications that you entered in the Page Setup dialog box opened from the File menu are displayed here. If you want, you can change them here but these new specifications will not be saved in the report.

  3. Click OK. 

To change the orientation of the page

  1. In run mode, click the Page Setup button on the Run toolbar.

    The Page Setup dialog box opens.

  2. In the Orientation area, specify the page orientation that you want to use when printing your report.

  3. Click OK.
