The Message node can be used whenever you must inform the user about something during an item configuration. There are three different message types: Information, Warning, and Error. Message nodes can be inserted next to the other node types in the modeling tree—to provide context-specific information for the product model’s users.

Note

This information applies only to Product builder.

Note

Messages of the Error type will end an ongoing item configuration.

  1. Click Product information management > Common > Product builder > Product models.

  2. Click Product model.

  3. Select the Tree tab in the lower pane.

  4. Right-click the Modeling tree node.

  5. Click New > Message node, and then select Information, Warning, or Error, depending on the type of message you want to create. A new node appears at the bottom of the modeling tree.

  6. If you want to insert a node into a particular position in the tree, drag it from the node list that is displayed on the left. This opens the Message form.

  7. Describe the purpose of the message in plain words in the Description field.

  8. In the Text field, type the message text.
