Working with the BizTalk Adapters

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

Much of the predictable work involved with using the BizTalk Server adapters provided with Commerce Server, also known informally as the Commerce Server adapters, consists of configuration steps within the BizTalk Server environment. These configuration steps can be performed within the BizTalk Server Administration Console or by using BizTalk Explorer within Visual Studio 2005 or Visual Studio 2008.

Note

The unpredictable portion of work involved in using the Commerce Server adapters has to do with tasks to be performed on the BizTalk Server side of the adapters. How much configuring and/or programming will be required within the BizTalk Server environment, or within the line-of-business (LOB) application with which you are integrating, depends entirely on the nature of the LOB application and the types of messages it is capable of consuming and producing. For more conceptual information about this portion of the integration work, see Conversing with Other Systems.

This section provides detailed information on how to add the Commerce Server adapters to a BizTalk Server application, and once added, how to configure them to achieve your desired results.
