Release sales order picking (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Inventory management > Periodic > Release sales order picking. In the query form that opens, define the search criteria to retrieve the sales order lines that you want, and then click OK.

Use this form to select, activate, and post sales backorders that can be processed for picking.

View details about the sales order that contains the order line that is selected under the Sales lines tab.

Select

Open a query form, where you can select the sales order lines that you want to work with in the Release sales order picking form.

Activation

Open a menu that contains the following items:

  • Clear activate now – Reset the activation of the number of items that are indicated as activated in the Activate now field for the selected sales order line.

  • All orders where entire order can be delivered – Activate all orders where inventory of the item is sufficient to deliver the entire order.

  • All orders that have status reserved physical – Activate all orders where the quantity of the sales order is reserved physically.

  • All orders that do not require manual allocation – Activate orders where the inventory is sufficient to cover for all existing sales orders.

Posting

Open the Posting picking list form, where you can post the selected sales order lines that contain the items that you want to ship.

Functions

Click Deliver remainder to open the Update remaining quantity form, where you can update the remaining quantity on backorders.

Trace orders

Open the Items on order form, where you can list the orders and reservations on the selected item.

Inventory

Allows you to perform various inventory related functions.

Recalculate

Update the selected sales order lines with current/updated information, for example, on-hand quantity.

Fields

Description

Deduct released for picking

Select if you want to deduct from the on-hand inventory, the items that are not reserved on the picking list or output order, the next time that you click Select to update the displayed order lines.

Ship dates

Date range selected in the query. If nothing is displayed then all dates are relevant.

Date

Date the form was last updated with new data or a calculation.

Time

Time when the form was last updated with new data or a calculation.

Customer classification group

Classification group for prioritizing customers. The groups are set up in the Customer classification groups form.

Ship date

Ship date selected in the query.

Sales order

Sales order number that the line is attached to.

Customer

Customer account number.

Item number

Item's identification code.

Item number on a sales line.

Unit

Inventory stock-keeping unit.

Quantity

Quantity ordered in inventory units.

Activate remainder

Quantity of items from the sales order line, in inventory units, that are not yet activated.

Activate now

Quantity you want to activate. Any quantity you enter in inventory units is automatically reserved from the physical quantity unless it is already reserved.

You can also select from the options under the Activation button to clear or populate this field.

All orders can be delivered

Indicates whether all orders with the same item number and inventory dimensions (storage location) can be delivered using the current on-hand inventory.

Requires allocation

Indicate whether there is insufficient on-hand inventory to cover the allocation for all sales backorders.

Production order exists

Indicate whether one or more production backorders need the same item.

Transfer order exists

Indicate whether one or more transfer orders exist for this item.

Possible delivery percentage

Percentage of lines in an order that have the All orders can be delivered check box selected.

Name

Name of the customer.

Contact

Person for business related communication. Set up the names using the Contacts field.

Internet address

Address of the customer's Internet homepage.

E-mail

E-mail address of the customer's contact person.

Status

Order status indicates how far the sales order has progressed in its cycle.

Document status

Indicates which document was last printed from the current order.

Deadline

Deadline date for the sales order.

Delivered

Quantity that has been packing slip updated and therefore has the Delivered status.

Picked

Quantity that has been picking list updated and therefore has the picked status.

Reserved physical

Total quantity of the item that was physically reserved for the inventory dimension.

Reserved ordered

Quantity reserved from the quantity ordered on the order line.

Reservation

Quantity to be reserved from the ordered quantity. This appears in the Reserved ordered field.

Picking list reserved

Reserved quantity from all the picking lists.

Picking list not reserved

Unreserved quantity from all the picking lists.

On order

Quantity from the selected order line that has been ordered.

Product name

Short description of the item on the selected order line.

Physical inventory

Physical quantity in the inventory.

Available physical

Available quantity (not reserved) from the physical inventory.

Available for activation

On-hand quantity that is available for activation.
