Create project (form)
Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012
Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. On the Action Pane, on the Project tab, in the New group, click Project.

Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. On the Action Pane, on the Project tab, in the New group, click Subproject.
Use this form to create new projects or subprojects. The information that you enter is maintained in the Project form.

Fields

Description |

Project type |
Select the type of project to create. |
Project ID |
Enter a project number to identify the project in Microsoft Dynamics AX. Note If your company has chosen to have project IDs assigned automatically, you do not need to enter an ID. |
Project name |
Enter a free text name for the project. |
Project group |
Assign the new project to an existing project group. The project group defines options for ledger posting, estimates, cost accounts, and revenue accounts. |
Project contract ID |
Select a project contract. The project contract determines the invoice and payment conditions of a project. Tip Click New... to create a new project contract for this project. |
Customer |
Change the customer account number. A customer account number is automatically inserted when you select a project contract. |
New estimate project |
Select this check box when you create a new Fixed-price or Investment project, so that you can assign estimate properties to it. Estimate properties are used for revenue recognition in Fixed-price projects. Depending on your version of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, this control may not be available. |
Start date |
Enter the date that the project begins. Note This control is available only if Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 is installed. |
