Hour forecasts (form)

Click Project management and accounting > Inquiries > Forecasts > Hour.

Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. Select or open a project. On the Action Pane, on the Plan tab, in the Forecast group, click Hour forecasts.

Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > Project contracts. Select or open a project contract. On the Action Pane, on the Plan tab, in the Forecast group, click Hour forecast.
Use this form to enter the expected amount of hours on a project. During a project, you can track the progress of the project by comparing this forecasted number of hours with the actual number of hours spent on the project.

Fields

Forecast model |
Select the forecast model defined for the project. You can also select a different forecast model. |
Project date |
Select the start date calculated for the current activity. By default, if you do not select a start date, the current date is entered. |
Project ID |
Select the project that you want to schedule for the forecast transaction. |
Activity number |
Select the activity for the forecast transaction. |
Category |
Select the appropriate category for the forecast transaction. |
Worker |
Select a worker ID to allocate a specific worker to a specific activity for the forecast transaction. |
Description |
Enter a description of the forecast transaction. |
Hours |
Enter the hours that you want to allow for the project. |
Line property |
Select the line property for the transaction. |
Budget type |
The type of budget information that this forecast holds.

Cost price |
Enter a cost price. The amount you enter here can override the default determined by the project pricing system. |
Sales currency |
Enter the invoice currency of the transaction for the forecast. |
Exchange rate |
Specify a fixed exchange rate for the sales price on the forecast. |
Sales price |
Sales price per hour of the current transaction. |
Active |
Indicates that the transaction is included in the forecast. |
Modified by |
Date when the record was last modified by user. |
Line number |
Displays line number for identification. |
Resource |
Specify the operations resource that should be used. |
Link |
Specifies the link that the job was created with. A link tells how the current job is tied to the subsequent job. The following options exist:
Note Only when the link type is Hard are the times identical. When the link type is Soft, there may be a time gap between the two jobs. In other words, the next job can start later than the link specifies. Examples Examples of possible combinations of link type and link: EndStart and Soft – used between operations. EndStart and Hard – used between setup job and process job. StartStart and Hard – used between several operations resources in the same operation. Ended and Hard – used for secondary operations. |
Link type |
Indicates the attachment type. The field can have the following values:

Working time |
Select this check box to schedule according to defined work time. |
Capacity |
If you select this check box, the planning function will reserve capacity on the current budget line if the planning is performed with limited capacity. |
Invoice date |
View the forecasted invoice date. The invoice date calculated for forecast transactions is based on the sum of the invoice date plus the invoice frequency defined on the invoice project. |
Elimination date |
View or modify the elimination date. When the forecast is created, the elimination date is set to the end date of the estimate project. If the estimate project has no end date, the project date will be applied. This applies to fixed-price projects and investment projects. |
Cost payment date |
Expected payment date of the cost. The date is calculated by adding project date and the terms of payment set up for expenses in the project parameters. |
Sales payment date |
Expected payment date of the revenue. The date is calculated by adding the invoice date plus individual buffer days from the contract project plus general buffer days from the project parameters. |
Load |
Specify the maximum capacity of the resource to assign to the selected transaction. Specify the capacity as a percentage. Load displays the percentage of maximum capacity that has been reserved. The maximum capacity is specified in the work calendar. |
Requirement type |
The type of requirement that you want to specify for the activity. You can specify multiple requirements for a forecast activity. For example, if you specify that a resource of type Human resources is needed, you can add Skill, Certificate, Course, or Title as requirements. Microsoft Dynamics AX will generate a list of resources that meet these criteria. Select the requirement type from the following:

Requirement |
The capability or classification that a particular resource of the selected type must possess. Select the requirement from the drop-down list in the field. The contents are determined by the requirement type you selected in the Requirement type. For example, if you selected Resource type, the list displays all the resource types: Vendor, Human resources, Machine, Tool, and Location. |
Operations scheduling |
Select the check box to include the selected requirement in operations scheduling. |
Job scheduling |
Select the check box to include the selected requirement in job scheduling. |
Working time |
If you select this check box, the scheduled operation time will be determined by the working hours specified in the calendar attached to the current operations resource. If you leave the check box blank, Microsoft Dynamics AX cannot reserve capacity on the current budget line. |
Resource |
Displays the operations resource that is assigned to perform the job as soon as planning is finished. |
Hours scheduled |
Forecast lines can be divided into multiple lines. The operations resource available hours determines how a task is distributed over time considering how other tasks are already allocated. |
Project date |
The start date calculated for the current activity. |
Start time |
The start time calculated for the current activity. |
End date |
The end date calculated for the current activity. |
End time |
The end time calculated for the current activity. |
Default financial dimensions |
The default financial dimensions for the main account. When you select a financial dimension value, the Where the %1 dimension is used field group displays where the dimension is used in account structures and advanced rule structures. |
Where the %1 dimension is used |
The account structures and advanced rule structures that use the financial dimensions that you selected in the Financial dimensions or Default financial dimensions field group. Note The name of the field depends on the selection in the Financial dimensions or Default financial dimensions field group. |
