Journal names, Inventory (form)

Click Inventory management > Setup > Journals > Journal names, inventory.

Use this form to create inventory journal names.

The journal names are used for the following journals:

You can associate each journal with a default journal name in the Journals area of the Inventory and warehouse management parameters form.

Navigating the form

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Field	Description
Name	The identifier of the journal name.
Description	The descriptive name for the journal name.
Journal type	The journal type, which determines what the journal is used for.
Voucher series	The voucher series that is used for the journal type.
Selection by	The date when a new voucher number will be automatically picked.
New voucher by	The date when a new voucher will be allocated.
Detail level	The summation level that is applied when the journal is posted.
Delete lines after posting	Select this check box to delete the journal lines after the journal has been posted.
Offset account	The ledger offset account for the journal transactions.
Reservation	The method that is used to reserve items. Manual – The items are reserved manually in the Reservation form. Automatic – The order quantity is reserved from the available, on-hand inventory for the item. Explosion – The reservation is part of the master planning of the transaction.
Private for user group	The user group that can access the journal, if the journal is available only for a specific user group.
