Depreciation proposal (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Create journal lines for the periodic depreciation of eligible fixed assets based on the following:

  • The depreciation profile of each depreciation value model

  • The date entered in the To date field in this form

Depreciations for all fixed assets can be calculated and posted in a single operation. Depreciation is calculated for fixed assets that have a status of Open for periods in which depreciation has not yet been posted.

Note

If a fixed asset is acquired in the middle of a depreciation period, it can often be depreciated from the start of the period, but depreciation first will be calculated after the acquisition is posted.

Open the form

  1. Click Fixed assets > Journals > Depreciation book journal.

  2. Select a depreciation book journal and click Lines.

  3. Click Proposals > Depreciation proposal.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Enter the ending date of the period for which to create depreciation proposal lines.

Summarize depreciation

Select this check box to summarize monthly depreciations into one journal line. For example, if the To date value is March 31, 2012, the following transaction text could be generated: "Depreciation since January 31, 2012." The Date field on the proposed journal lines is then set to March 31, 2012.
