Where-used (form)

Click Product information management > Common > Released products. Select an item, click the Engineer tab, and on the Action Pane, click Where-used.

Use this form to open a bill of materials (BOM) in which the selected item is used.

The upper pane displays the all BOMs in which the selected item is used. You can also see attached item dimension information, such as the size or color of the item, and the quantity that the selected item contributes to the BOM. The lower pane shows the BOM versions attached to the BOM(s) that are selected in the upper pane.

Note

Where-used information is automatically generated and cannot be modified or deleted. If the BOM versions were inactive in the License configuration, you cannot view the lower BOM versions pane in the form.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Fields

Show only interval

Select this check box to see BOM versions in which the period of validity overlaps with the period of validity for the BOM lines in the upper pane.

BOM

The BOM identification number for the selected BOM version.

Configuration group

Select or modify the configuration group for the item.

Configuration

Select an item configuration to specify an item with specific attributes.

Size

The size of the item.

Color

The color of the item.

Warehouse

Enter the warehouse where the items should be stored.

Quantity

The number of items included in one unit, or one series of the BOM item. If the quantity is calculated per series, enter the basis of the series in the Per series field.

Example

If a BOM item is generally referred to as coming in 100-pound packages and there are 10 pounds of component item A per 100-pound package, the quantity would be 10 per series 100.

Unit

The unit in which the Quantity field is given. The default BOM unit is retrieved from the BOM unit field. Otherwise, the field is blank.

From date

The date from which the BOM line is valid.

To date

The last date that the BOM line is valid.

Item number

The identification of the item that the BOM version is associated with.

Name

The descriptive name of the BOM version. The name is specified when you create BOM versions and can be modified, as needed.

From date

The date from which the BOM version is valid. The field is used to manage multiple BOM versions.

To date

The last date when the BOM version is valid.

Active

Select this check box to make the current BOM version active.

Construction

Indicates that the version is being constructed.
