Create a minimum inventory quantity proposal

To create a minimum inventory quantity proposal, use the following procedure:

  1. Click Master planning > Journals > Safety stock.

  2. Click New to create a journal, and then select a journal name.

  3. Click Lines to open the Item coverage journal lines form.

  4. Click Journal lines and select Create lines to open the Create journal lines for proposed minimum inventory levels form.

  5. Set up the time period for which you want to investigate inventory transactions by selecting dates in the From date and To date calendars. To filter and select the items, click Select.

  6. Click OK to create lines on the Overview tab that show the current minimum inventory setting for the selected items.

  7. Click Journal lines and select Calculate proposal to open the Calculate proposal for minimum inventory level form.

  8. Select the method to calculate the new minimum inventory levels and select whether to transfer the calculated Proposal to the New minimum field.

  9. Click OK.

  10. You can also enter a new minimum inventory level manually.
