Route operation details (form)

Click Product information management > Common > Product builder > Product models. Select a product model. On the Action Pane, on the Models tab > click Open. In the lower portion of the screen that appears, on the Tree tab, select the Route node from the left-hand section of the screen and then drag and drop it in the Modeling tree.

Use this form to set up value assignments for route operation fields. The Allocation of section at the top of the form indicates whether the value of the current field will be determined by a variable or by a value.

We recommend that you do not use this form, because it is being officially deprecated and may be removed, and may not be available in future versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Note

If more than one line is entered, the lines are automatically split into separate route operation nodes in the modeling tree after the Route operation form is closed. Lines that are entered in this way must use the same assignment method, either Value or Variable, for all fields in the same column. If you need to enter route operations that use different assignment methods in the same column, work with them as separate route operation nodes instead.

Navigating the form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Tabs

Tab	Description
Overview	View and specify the route number and information about the operation.
General	View and specify information for the selected operation.
Setup	View and specify the setup criteria.
Times	View and specify the times that are associated with the operation.
Resource requirements	View and edit the resource requirements for the operation.

Fields

Field	Description
Route number	If a default route has been selected, the number of the default route should be entered in this field. If the current operation is part of the default route, the default route's next operation number will then be automatically displayed in the Next field.
Oper. No.	Specify an operation number if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.
Oper. No.	Select a modeling variable or another product model variable if you clicked Variable in the Allocation of section. The variable that you select must be type compatible with the field into which it is entered. During item configuration, the Oper. No. field populates with the value of the variable that you select.
Priority	Select the operation priority if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

The variable must be type compatible with the field into which it is entered. During item configuration, the Priority field is filled in with the value of the variable that you select.
Operation	Select an operation if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

Scrap percentage	Specify the scrap percentage from this operation if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.
Scrap percentage	Select a modeling variable or another product model variable if you clicked Variable in the Allocation of section. The variable must be type compatible with the field into which it is entered. During item configuration, the Scrap percentage field is filled in with the value of the variable that you select.
Accumulated	Specify the accumulated scrap percentage from this operation if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.
Accumulated	Select a modeling variable or another product model variable if you clicked Variable in the Allocation of section. The variable must be type compatible with the field into which it is entered. During item configuration, the Accumulated field is filled in with the value of the variable that you select.
Next	Specify the next operation in the route if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.
Next	Select a modeling variable or another product model variable if you clicked Variable in the Allocation of section. The variable must be type compatible with the field into which it is entered. During item configuration, the Next field is filled in with the value of the variable that you select.
Link type	Select the link type if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

Hourly rate / piecework rate	Select the payment type if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

The variable must be type compatible with the field into which it is entered. During item configuration, the Hourly rate / piecework rate field is filled in with the value of the selected variable.
Route group	Select the route group related to the route.
Operation	View the currently selected operation. Note The field is not editable. To change the operation assignment, go to the Operation field on the Overview tab page.

Property	Select the property if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

The variable must be type compatible with the field into which it is entered. During item configuration, the Property field is populated in with the value of the variable that you select.
Route group	Select routing group if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

Formula	Select consumption calculation formula if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

Factor	Select a factor that may be used in formula if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

Costing resource	Select the costing resource. You can select to insert default time and cost values from the selected resource or enter the values individually.
Setup category	Select the cost category for setup time if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

Hours/time	Specify the conversion factor if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

Transfer batch	Specify the quantity that can be moved between sequential resources if you clicked Value in the Allocation of section.

The variable must be type compatible with the field into which it is entered. During item configuration, the Transfer batch field is filled in with the value of the selected variable.
Quantity	The number of resources needed for the activity.
Load	The percentage of maximum capacity that is assigned to the selected resource.
Requirement type	The type of requirement for the activity.
Requirement	The capability that the resource must have.
Operations scheduling	Select this check box if the requirement is for operations scheduling.
Job scheduling	Select this check box if the requirement is for job scheduling.
