Click Cost accounting > Setup > Budget model. Click Cost category setup.

Note

The Cost category setup button is available only if you select Flexible budgeting in the Budget model type field in the Budget model form.

Use the Cost category setup form to create, manage, and view the setup of cost plans for flexible budgets. You can also use the form to define the following basic settings:

The cost categories, service categories, and cost lines that you plan in your flexible budget
The level of planning for the cost categories and cost lines
Whether there is a percentage-based cost allocation for the cost categories

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Tabs

Tab	Description
Cost categories	Enter, view, or manage the cost category for the selected budget model line.
Service categories	Enter, view, or manage the service category for the selected budget model line.
Cost lines	Enter, view, or manage the cost lines for the selected budget model line.

Buttons

Button	Description
Calculation setup	Open the Calculation setup form, where you can enter the percentage that is used to calculate the selected line.
Load cost categories	Import the cost categories.
Load service categories	Import the service categories.
Calculation setup	Open the Calculation setup form, where you can set up calculations.
Cost allocation	Open the Cost allocation form, where you can view, manage, or change the percentage of distribution. By using this function, you can distribute the costs from a cost line to the cost categories.

Fields

Field	Description
Cost category	Enter, view, or manage the cost category.
Description	A description of the cost category, service category, or cost line.
Period key	The period allocation key, if there is one.
Calculated	Determine whether the cost category has been calculated.
Service category	Enter, view, or manage the service category.
Cost line	Enter, view, or manage the cost line.
Budget	Determine whether the budget of this line is based on a cost line.
Share fixed costs	If you want to use this cost line for planning, enter the percentage of the costs that are fixed.
Share variable costs	If you want to use this cost line for planning, enter the percentage of the costs that are variable.
Calculated	Determine whether the cost line has been set up for calculation in the Calculation setup form.
