Usage data (form)

Click File > Tools > Options.... In the Options form, click Usage data.

Use this form to view, reset, or delete stored settings. Selections that you make while Microsoft Dynamics AX is running are saved as usage data, to improve your experience the next time that you use the program.

To view the stored settings for the selected entry, click the Data button.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

General

View information about the user experience and the purpose of the form.

Ranges

Specify a name and other information for the search range that you use to search through reports and forms.

Report selections, Jobs, Form setup, and Form selections

Customize your selections in various ways. Specify criteria and options for initializing reports and jobs, customize the appearance of forms, and maintain information about all the customizations that you have made.

Autoreports and Record templates

View information about custom reports and record templates. Use the Autoreport Wizard to generate reports, and use the information from grids to generate the record templates.

All usage data

View details about a record. Details include the record's type, object name, and general name, the development layer, and the company that the record belongs to.

This button is unavailable on the General tab.

Reset

Delete all stored data on all tabs. Confirmation is required before the data is deleted.

To delete a single record of stored data, select the record, and then press ALT+F9.

Description

Report name

A user-specified name for the range.

More information about the range, name, or objects.

Company accounts specific

A selected check box indicates that the data is specific to the current company. Deleting the record affects this company only.

System name

The name that is assigned for system use.

Caption

The window caption that is displayed to the user, if this caption differs from the value of the System name field.

Table name

The name that is displayed to the user.

Record type

The system folder name for the type of record.

Element name

The object name that the system uses to identify the record.

Element name

The name that is displayed to the user.

Is Kernel

A check mark indicates kernel information, such as form positioning, that is saved by the kernel and not by Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Company

If data is specific to a certain company, that company name is specified here.
