Picking routes (form)

This topic applies to features in the Inventory management module. It does not apply to features in the Warehouse management module.

Click Inventory management > Common > Picking routes.

Use this form to manage the picking routes.

The Pick form is used for consolidated guided picking where the route is sorted by location. This could be, for example, that the nearest is prioritized first and then the remaining according to proximity.

Filtering records

Filtering of records is carried out in the Criteria area.

Personnel number

Enter a personnel number to filter picking routes assigned to a particular personnel number.

Warehouse

Select a warehouse ID to filter picking routes for a particular warehouse.

Picking

Displays information about picking routes and radio frequency (RFID) tagging.

General

Displays detailed information about the selected picking route.

RFID

Displays information about the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) parameters and RFID printer setup.

Lower pane

The tabs in the Picking lines area are associated with picking lines. These tabs are only shown when the Picking tab in the upper pane is active.

Displays picking lines that have not yet been picked.

Picked

Displays all the picked lines including the to-dimensions information.

Description

Start picking route

Start and lock the picking route.

Create picking pallet

Create a new picking pallet. When you create a picking pallet for a picking route, Microsoft Dynamics AX remembers the picking pallet's attachment if you leave the screen and come back later to the same picking route.

Cancel picking route

Cancel all lines in the picking route. If one or more lines have already been picked and the Handling status for the lines is Picked or an even later status, you cannot cancel the route.

Deliver picked items

Manually deliver picked items and specify where you want picked items to be delivered after picking. The status of each line changes according to the setup stage that you have defined in the Outbound rules. The program automatically removes any lines that have been delivered and highlights the next items to be delivered.

Note   If you have set up the outbound rules to deliver picked items, the Deliver picked items form appears, where you can confirm the delivery

Specification

Approve picking lines.

Refill

Request refilling at the location where the line is to be picked.

Counting

Make an online count at the location. The Counting button is only visible if you have entered a default name for the counting journal in the Inventory parameters form.

Inventory

Opens a menu with the following item:

  • Dimensions display - Select which inventory dimensions must be in the actual form.

Read tags

Read multiple tags at the same time. If the tags do not match the picking lines, the RFID mapping form opens. Otherwise, the picking lines are reported as finished.

Picking route

Select the picking route that you want to run.

Picking pallet

Specify the pallet where the items are positioned.

Worker

Enter your worker number.

Warehouse

Enter the warehouse where you work. Use this field to filter out picking routes from other warehouses.

Pallet tagging

Select if pallet tagging is mandatory.

Status

Indicates whether an RFID tag has been associated with the line.

Description

Item number

Item number where you want the transaction performed.

Warehouse

Enter the warehouse in which you will store your items.

Location

Location inside a warehouse.

Configuration

Select an item configuration to specify an item with specific attributes.

Size

Displays the size of the item.

Color

Displays the color of the item.

Batch number

Displays the batch number dimension.

Pallet ID

Unique identification (ID) for the pallet (Serial Shipping Container Code).

Serial number

Serial number dimension.

Quantity

Quantity that this transaction affects.

Picking route

Identification of the picking route.

Picking area

Identifies the picking area.

Warehouse

Warehouse where the items are to be picked.

Shipment

The shipment that the picking route belongs to.

Customer

Identification of the customer who is to receive the items. This is only relevant and completed if the Joint packing field for the shipment has the value Same customer.

Delivery address

Displays the delivery address and postal (zip) code.

Reference

Identifies, together with the Number field, the recipient of the items on the picking route. This is only relevant and completed if the Joint packing field for the shipment has the value Sale.

Number

Identifies, together with the Reference field, the recipient of the items on the picking route. This is only relevant and completed if the Joint packing field for the shipment has the value Sale.

Handling status

Status for the picking route.

Status is based on the status of the individual lines and is equal to the lowest of the line states. For example, if one of the lines is in status Activated whereas other lines are in status Complete, the status will Activated.

Mode of handling

Displays the mode of handling.

Worker

The operator or picker who processed the picking route.

Priority

Priority of the picking route. Picking routes with a higher priority are presented first to the pickers.

Automatically decrease quantity

This parameter is used for the Mode of handling parameter and is automatically selected when Mode of handling is Online.

When the quantity for a specific item on one line is increased, the quantity for the same item on another line in the same picking route is automatically decreased. This is intended for use when picking is registered on a hand-held device and the update is immediate.

Estimated handling time

Expected time that it will take to pick the items in the picking route. This data is calculated by Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Volume

Anticipated volume of the items to be picked on the picking route. This data is calculated by Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Activation date

Date on which the picking route was released for consignment. This data is calculated by Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Start date/time

Date and time that the picking route was started. This data is calculated by Microsoft Dynamics AX.

End date/time

Date and time on which the picking route was ended. This data is calculated by Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Server ID

Select the RFID server.

Device name

Select the RFID device.

Printer name

Select the printer.

Print medium

Select the print medium.
