Stage reasons (form) [AX 2012]

Click Service management > Common > Service orders > Active service orders. Click the Dispatch tab, and then in the Service stage section of the Action Pane, click Stage reasons.

Use this form to view the reason codes that are assigned to the various stages of a service order, such as Planning, In Progress, Closed, or other service stages that you define. You can also use this form to add a reason code for a particular stage manually and to delete incorrect stage reason codes.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

View details about the stage reason.



Stage reason code

Select a reason code for the current stage.

Service order

View the identifier for the service order.


Enter a brief note to describe this transaction.

Stage reason type

The action that created a stage reason. The following types are created:

  • Stage change: Indicates that you changed the stage.

  • Close: Indicates that you stopped the time recording.

  • Cancel: Indicates that you canceled a service level agreement.

  • Manual: Indicates that you created the stage reason manually.

Service stage

The current service order stage.
