About period frequency [AX 2012]

If you select Calendar in the Depreciation year field, you can select the period frequency, which defines the accrual of the yearly depreciation amount. The following period frequency options are available:

  • Yearly – An amount is posted on December 31 of each year.

  • Monthly – A monthly amount is posted at the end of each calendar month.

  • Quarterly – A quarterly amount is posted at the end of each calendar quarter. The calendar quarters end on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31.

  • Half-Yearly – A half-yearly amount is posted at the end of each calendar half year. The half years end on June 30 and December 31.

  • Daily – The depreciation amount for the daily depreciation method is posted. One transaction is used for each day.

    (THA) This control is available only to legal entities whose primary address is in Thailand.

If you select Fiscal in the Depreciation year field, the following period frequency options are available:

  • Yearly – The total amount of the depreciation that is calculated for the fiscal year is posted as one amount on the last day of the fiscal year.

  • Fiscal period – The total amount of the depreciation that is calculated for the fiscal year is accrued into the periods that are defined for each fiscal year. These periods are defined in the Fiscal calendars form in General ledger.
