Record templates (form) [AX 2012]

Click Home > Setup > Record templates.

Use this form to view and delete account templates for the active legal entity. You cannot create new templates in this form.

To display templates created for tables that are not specific to a legal entity, such as templates created from the User groups form, select the System record templates check box.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.



Overview tab

View the list of tables that contain templates.


View the list of templates that were created for the selected table.




Modify an existing accounts template or system template.



System record templates

Select the check box to display system templates.

Reference table ID

The table identification.

Name of table

Name of the table template.

Allow blank

Create records without using templates.

Modified By

The last user who modified the template.

Modified date and time

The last date when the template was modified.


Enter a brief description of the transaction.

Default template

Select this check box to use this template as a default template when you create records.


Enter details about the template.
