Pallet types (form) [AX 2012]

This topic applies to features in the Inventory management module. It does not apply to features in the Warehouse management module.

Click Inventory management > Setup > Inventory equipment > Pallet types.

Use this form to define the pallet types that are used, and to define the physical dimensions for any kind of item container.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.




View a list of pallet locations.



Pallet type

The unique identifier of the pallet type.


The description of the pallet type.


The height of this kind of pallet.


The width of this kind of pallet.


The depth of this kind of pallet.


The calculated volume of the pallet. The volume is calculated based on the height, width, and depth.


The calculated weight of the pallet.


Select this check box to indicate that the pallet type is considered a container.

  • When the check box is selected, the pallet type is used to put items inside the pallet. The pallet’s height corresponds to the height of the pallet type.

  • When the check box is cleared, the pallet type is used to put items on the pallet. Both the pallet and the items are included in the calculation of the height.
