(USA) 1099 transmitter (form)

Click General ledger > Setup > Organization > Legal entities. In the Legal entities form, click the Withholding tax FastTab, and then click 1099 transmitter to open the 1099 transmitter form.

Use this form to enter the information requested by the IRS about the person or company who will file your 1099 statements electronically or by using magnetic media.

Note

We recommend that you review IRS rule changes for the applicable tax year before you set up and process 1099 statements. This form is available to legal entities whose primary address is in the United States.

The first time that you open this form, you have the option to initialize the 1099 transmitter data and to display company information automatically. If you click No, you must enter the vendor information manually.

If another person or company is filing 1099 statements electronically or by magnetic media on behalf of your company, the IRS requires that you enter the name, address, tax registration number, and contact information for the person or company.

Transmitter name

The name of the person or company transmitting the 1099 statements to the IRS.

DBA

Abbreviation for "doing business as."

Foreign entity indicator

Select this check box if the company is owned by an entity outside of the United States.

Federal tax ID

Enter the tax identification number for vendors provided by the federal authorities for 1099 reporting.

TCC

Enter the transmitter control code (TCC) assigned by the IRS Enterprise Computing Center at Martinsburg (ECC-MTB).

Contact

Enter the name of a contact person.

Telephone

Enter the telephone number of the contact person.

E-mail

Enter the e-mail address of the contact person.

Replacement alpha character

If you submitted 1099 statements using magnetic media and the IRS requested a replacement file, enter the alpha character from the Media Tracking Slip, form 9267, which the IRS sent with its request. The alpha character appears immediately after the TCC on the tracking slip.

Address

View the formatted information for the selected address. This is the address that will appear on a printed document. The original address record may contain information that is not included in this view, depending on the specific country/region format.
