Max. report as finished (form) [AX 2012]

Click Product information management > Common > Released products. On the Action Pane, on the Engineer tab, in the Process group, click Max. report as finished.

Use this form to check the maximum quantity that can be reported as finished before on-hand inventory starts to show as negative in the Max. report as finished field of the bill of material (BOM).

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Description

Parameters (field group)

View the item and the inventory items that are listed on the BOM. Enter the quantity and explosion settings. Depending on the explosion settings, different quantities are displayed in the Max. report as finished field.

Overview

View the BOM header and BOM lines. The header is the top line in the grid.

Each BOM line contains:

  • The quantity of items in the specified unit that is required to produce the quantity of the item that you specified in the Parameters section. This field is updated when you update the field in the Parameters field group.

  • The amount of current on-hand inventory for the item.

  • The maximum number of units of the BOM that can be reported as finished with regard to on-hand, and the quantity required for completion of one item.

Inventory

Open the Dimensions display form to select the inventory dimensions to display.

Field

Description

Configuration

The item configuration.

Size

The size of the item.

Color

The color of the item.

Site

The site where the BOM version is used.

Warehouse

The warehouse where the BOM is stored.

Batch number

Enter the batch number dimension. If you select Edit lines and Explode lines in the upper section of the Shipment or Receive form, you can modify the batch number for the transfer order line.

Location

The location inside a warehouse. If you select Edit lines and Explode lines in the upper section of the Shipment or Receive form, you can modify the location number for the transfer order line.

Serial number

The serial number dimension. If you select Edit lines and Explode lines in the upper section of the Shipment or Receive form, you can modify the serial number for the transfer order line.

Quantity

Enter the quantity that you want to report as finished. The field is populated automatically if you filled in the Standard order quantity field in the Default order settings or Site specific order settings form.

Explosion

The method of exploding the BOM. The options are:

  • Never – Underlying BOMs are not exploded when there is a material shortage.

  • Always – All underlying BOMs are fully exploded. Any available on-hand inventory for semi-finished component items is not used.

  • When shortage – Underlying BOMs are only exploded if the quantity of the material that is required is not fully available. If the semi-finished item is partially available, only the remaining items are exploded to the underlying levels.

BOM

The BOM automatically displays the number of any active BOM for the current item. You can also select an active BOM from the list.

Item number

The item number is marked when the item on the line is a part of the item on the first line. The item can be an item or service-type item.

Quantity

The standard report-as-finished quantity on the first line, the access line, which is of the type BOM line. The field is populated automatically with one of the following options:

  • The quantity that is entered in the Standard order quantity field in the Default order settings or Site specific order settings form

  • The value 1.

The subsequent lines show the component quantities as they are defined in the BOM setup.

If you change the Quantity field at the top of the dialog box in the Parameters group, that change is reflected in the Quantity field on the Overview tab.

On-hand

The quantity of available on-hand inventory at the warehouse.

Max. report as finished

The maximum quantity that can be reported as finished for the item without the available on-hand inventory at the warehouse becoming negative.

BOM line

This field is marked when the line is an item that is used in a BOM.

Level

The line's BOM level.
