Skill mapping profiles (form)

Click Human resources > Periodic > Skills > Skill mapping profiles.
Use this form to create a skill mapping profile that you can use to search for people—workers, applicants, or contacts—who have skills and qualifications that you specify.
Profiling allows a company to find and match people with qualifications that directly correspond to business needs. You can save and reuse skill mapping profiles.
Navigating the form
The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Description |

Execute |
Run a skill mapping search using the selected skill mapping profile. The results of the search, which are the number of people found, are listed in the Infolog form. To view the list of people, return to the Skill mapping form, click Result and then select how to view the results. |
Result |
View the results of the skill mapping. Results can be viewed in the Result form, a report, or in a graphical format. Note To view the results in a graphical format, you must have the Microsoft Office Web Components 2003 add-in installed. |
Retrieve profile |
Retrieve a profile for a person, job, course type, or a previously defined skill mapping. |

Skill mapping |
Enter a name for the skill mapping profile. |
Description |
Enter a description of the skill mapping profile. |
Date |
Enter the search criteria date. The skill mapping search results will only display people who have met the skill mapping criteria as of the date that you enter. |
Worker |
Select this option to include workers in the skill mapping results when you run a profile. |
Applicant |
Select this option to include applicants in the skill mapping results when you run a profile. |
Contact |
Select this option to include contact persons in the skill mapping results when you run a profile. |
Type |
Select the predefined range type to use to refine your search from the following options:

Range |
Define the range for the criterion that you selected in the Type list. |
Optional (Range tab) |
Select this check box to make the Type and Range criteria optional. |
Importance |
Select the importance of the qualification to calculate points for optional criteria when you run skill mapping. This field is available only if you select the Optional check box. |
Certificate type |
Select the certificate that people included in the search results should have.
The information in this field is maintained in the following form: Certificate types (form). |
Different from (Certificates tab) |
Select this check box to exclude people who have the certificate that you specified in the Certificate type field from the search results. |
Optional (Certificates tab) |
Select this check box to make the selected row of certificate criteria optional. |
Skill |
Select the skill that people included in the search results should have. |
Level |
Select the minimum level of expertise that people included in the search results should have. If you enter 3 in this field, the search results will return people who have achieved this skill at a level 3 or higher. |
Experience |
Enter a number—usually the number of years—to define the amount of experience using the skill that a person should have. If you enter 3 in this field, the search results will return people who have three or more years of experience at or above the level that you selected in the Level field for the skill that you specified in the Skill field. |
Different from (Skills tab) |
Select this check box to exclude people who have the skill that you specified in the Skill field and who are at or above the level that you selected in the Level from the search results. |
Optional (Skills tab) |
Select this check box to make the selected row of skill criteria optional. |
Education |
Select the education discipline that people included in the search results should have.
The information in this field is maintained in the following form: Education disciplines (form). |
Different from (Education tab) |
Select this check box to exclude people who have a background in the education discipline that you specified in the Education field from the search results. |
Optional (Education tab) |
Select this check box to make the selected row of education criteria optional. |
