Personnel categories (form) [AX 2012]

Updated: October 18, 2012

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Human resources > Setup > Payroll > Personnel categories.

Use this form to maintain a list of personnel categories. You can use personnel categories when you set up base payroll information for a worker.

You can divide each category into wage groups, which can be further divided into scale levels.

For example, if you employ several accountants, you could create a personnel category in this form. You could then create wage groups for the category to indicate levels of qualification or experience related to the accountant category. Next, you could assign payroll scale levels to a wage group to differentiate between junior and senior accountants.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Open the Wage groups form, where you can create and manage smaller groups of personnel categories, such as specialty requirements in a category.
