Click General ledger > Setup > Journals > Posting journals.

Use this form to create and manage posting journals for orders, purchases, and journals. Posting journals group ledger transactions by voucher series.

The voucher series that is set up for a particular posting date is selected automatically when you make entries. Click General journal > Reports > Journals > Posted transactions by journal to view the transactions for posted journals. Click General journal > Reports > Journals > Print journal to print the transactions for posted journals.

General

Enter and view additional information for the posting journal that is selected.

Description

Create

Create all the required posting journals. Microsoft Dynamics AX searches all sections for voucher series that are not attached to a posting journal and creates one posting journal for each of these voucher series.

Journal names

Create or update a journal template for the selected number sequence code.

Final prints

For Belgian posting journals, set up the periods for final prints.

Description

Journal

Enter an identification of the posting journal.

Name

Enter a name for the posting journal.

Number sequence code

Select the voucher series to attach to the posting journal. You can specify a date interval in which posting is allowed for the voucher series.

From date

Enter a date from which posting is allowed for the current voucher series.

To date

Enter a date after which posting is no longer allowed for the current voucher series.

Journal type

Select the journal type, including Purchase, Sales, Financial, or Other, for the posting journal.
