In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 8 or later: Click Organization administration > Setup > Microsoft Outlook or Exchange Server synchronization > Microsoft Outlook mapping.

Use this form to define which tables and fields in Microsoft Dynamics AX are synchronized with fields in Microsoft Office Outlook.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Microsoft Office Outlook mapping

This control is available only in versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 prior to AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 8.

Select the synchronization type that you want to map to Microsoft Outlook. There are three possible types of synchronization: Contacts, Appointments, and Tasks.

Microsoft Outlook mapping

This control is available only if AX 2012 R3 CU8 or later is installed.

Select the synchronization type that you want to map to Outlook or Exchange Server. There are three possible types of synchronization: Contacts, Appointments, and Tasks.

Use default mapping

Use the mapping that is suggested. The suggested mapping inserts default table fields for the selected synchronization type (Contacts, Appointments, or Tasks). You can modify the table fields at any time.

Microsoft Office Outlook contact field

This control is available only in versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 prior to AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 8.

Displays the Outlook fields for the synchronization type.

Microsoft Outlook or Exchange Server contact field

This control is available only if AX 2012 R3 CU8 or later is installed.

Displays the Outlook or Exchange Server fields for the synchronization type.

Direction

Select whether to synchronize only to Microsoft Dynamics AX, only to Outlook (or Exchange Server in AX 2012 R3 CU8), or in both directions.
