Estimate template (form)

Click Project management and accounting > Setup > Estimates > Cost template. In the menu bar, click Cost lines.

Use this form to create and maintain cost lines for cost estimates in a project.

When you create a new cost estimate in the Cost template form, single estimate lines are created in this form for hours, items, and expenses. However, you can add additional estimate lines for hours, items or expenses, or both.

Overview tab

View all the created estimate lines.

General tab

View specific information on the active estimate line.

Categories

Add categories to the active estimate line. Select a category from the Remaining categories field, and then click the left arrow (<) button to move the category to the Selected categories field.

After a category has been added to an estimate line, you cannot remove it.

Up

Move the active estimate line up on the Overview tab to change the order of the estimate lines in the grid.

Down

Move the active estimate line down on the Overview tab to change the order of the estimate lines in the grid.

Cost line

Enter an ID for the estimate line.

Percentage of completion

Select this check box if you want the estimate line to be part of the calculated percentage of completion. The percentage of completion is maintained on the General tab in the Estimate (form).

Name

Enter a descriptive name for the estimate line.

Transaction type

Select one of the three estimate line types available. These types correspond to the three cost types: Expense, Item, and Hour.

Cost template

Displays the name of the control type defined in the control type window.

Percentage of completion

Select this check box to specify that the group be included in the calculation of the percentage of completion.

Mandatory cost line

Indicates whether the group is created by the system.

Cost to complete method

Select a method to determine how the cost to complete is calculated.
