Vendor payment fee setup (form)

Click Accounts payable > Setup > Payment > Payment fee. Click Payment fee setup.

Use this form to set up payment fees for various combinations of banks, methods of payment, payment specifications, currencies, and date intervals. A payment fee is automatically selected for a vendor based on these combinations.

Note

If you open the form from the Payment fee form, you define setup combinations for the payment fee ID that you selected in that form. If you open the form from the Methods of payment - vendors form, you define setup combinations for the method of payment that you selected in that form.

Create a combination, and view the list of combinations for the payment fee.

General

Enter and view additional information about the selected payment fee setup line.

Interval

For the selected payment fee setup line, enter fees that depend on the number of days between the remittance date and the due date.

Fields

Field

Description

Fee ID

The identifier of the fee.

Groupings

Select a method to use to select bank information:

  • Table – The fee is valid for the bank account that is selected in the Bank relation list.

  • Group – The fee is valid for the bank group that is selected in Bank relation list.

  • All – The fee is valid for all bank accounts.

Bank relation

Select a bank relation:

  • Select a bank account if Table is selected in the Groupings field.

  • Select a bank group if Group is selected in the Groupings field.

  • Leave this field blank if All is selected in the Groupings field.

Method of payment

Select a method of payment that will be used for the payment fee.

Payment specification

Select the payment specification code to use for the current payment fee.

Currency

Select the currency that the fee will be calculated for. Only transactions that use this currency will have the fee applied to them. If this field is blank, the fee applies to all currencies.

Percentage/Amount

Select the calculation method. Choose from Amount, Percent, or Interval. If you select Interval, the fee is calculated only if the number of days between the due date for the invoice and the remittance date exceeds the number of days that is specified on the Interval tab.

Fee amount

The size of the fee as a percentage of the payment or as an amount for one payment.

Currency

The currency code for the fee amount.

Minimum

Enter the minimum transaction amount that is required for the fee to be calculated.

Maximum

Enter the maximum transaction amount that is required for the fee to be calculated.

From date

Enter the start of the date range for the fee calculation.

To date

Enter the end of the date range for the fee calculation.

Minimum fee

Enter the minimum fee amount to apply. If the calculated amount is less than the minimum fee amount, the fee will not be assessed.

Sales tax group

If Ledger is selected in the Charge field in the form where you opened this form from, select a sales tax group. The sales tax group and the item sales tax group are used together to generate the relevant sales taxes.

If sales tax is calculated, the net amount is posted on a ledger account and the sales tax amount is posted on a sales tax account.

Item sales tax group

If Ledger is selected in the Charge field in the form where you opened this form from, select an item sales tax group. The sales tax group and the item sales tax group are used together to generate the relevant sales taxes.

If sales tax is calculated, the net amount is posted on a ledger account and the sales tax amount is posted on a sales tax account.

Days

Enter the number of days between the posting date (the discount date) of the remittance and the due date of the promissory note.
