Cost lines setup (form)

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Cost accounting > Setup > Grouping > Line structures. Select a line structure, and then click Cost lines.

Use this form to group your cost categories and service categories in cost lines.

Additionally, you can create line totals and calculation lines.

Navigating the form

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Tab	Description
Overview tab	Create and view all cost lines.
General tab	View information about the cost line that is selected on the Overview tab.
Cost categories	Create and view the cost categories for the cost line that is selected on the Overview tab.
Service categories	Create and view the service categories for the cost line that is selected on the Overview tab.
Calculation	Create and view all calculation information for the cost line that is selected on the Overview tab.
Line total	Create and view the cost lines that are used to calculate this line total.

Button	Description
Display structure	Open the Display structure form to show the line structure in a tree view.
Load cost categories	Use this function to import the cost categories.
Load service categories	Use this function to import the service categories.

Field	Description
Line structure	The identification code of the line structure selected in the Line structures form.
Cost line	Enter the number of this line.
Name	Enter the description of this line
Line type	Select one of the following line types: Cost category value Service value Line total Calculation
Cost category	Enter the number of the cost category that you want to include in this line.
Account name	Select the account name of the cost category.
Service category	Enter the number of the service category that you want to include in this line.
Posting type	Select one of the following posting types: Debit Credit Note If you use the wrong debit code, the result that is shown on the report might be wrong.
Line number	Enter the number of the cost line for which you want the total.
Description	Enter or view the description of the service category, calculation line, or cost line.
Source	Select or view one of the following calculation sources: Line Cost category Service category Reference table Value
Reference number	Select or view a reference that is related to the selection in the Source field.
Expression	Select a calculation expression.
Value	Select one of the following calculation values: Total Fixed Variable Quantity
