Journal names, warehouse management (form)

This topic applies to features in the Inventory management module. It does not apply to features in the Warehouse management module.

Click Inventory management > Setup > Journals > Journal names, warehouse management.

Use this form to create journal names to use for location journals. You use location journals to register the receipt of items.

Navigating the form

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.

Field	Description
Name	The identifier for the journal name.
Description	The description of the journal name.
Journal type	The journal type, which indicates what the journal is used for. The following journal types are available: Item arrival Production input
Delete lines after posting	Select this check box to delete the journal lines when the posting is completed.
Private for user group	If this journal name can be used by only a specific user group, select that user group.
Pallet transports	Select this check box to indicate that the items that are registered in the journal should be moved with the help of pallet transports.
Check picking location	Select this check box if you want the system to check for room for the item in the item’s ordinary picking location. Select the picking location in the Warehouse items form. For more information, see Warehouse items (form).
Check bulk locations	Select this check box to automatically search for an available bulk location for the item that must be used as the item's store zone. Note If you selected the Check picking location check box, and there is room at the picking location, the system does not search for a bulk location.
