Derived requirements (form) [AX 2012]

Applies To: Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Click Master planning > Common > Planned orders. Select a planned order. On the Action Pane, on the View tab, click Derived requirements.

Use this form to view the component requirements that are derived from the selected transaction, which is typically a planned production order for an item.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.



Overview tab

View the item components that make up the BOM.


View the action messages that are related to the selected component.


View the futures messages that are related to the selected component.



Requirement profile

Open the Net requirements form, where you can view the results of the latest master scheduling for the selected item.

Dimensions display

Open the Dimensions display form, where you can set up the inventory dimensions that you want to display in the Derived requirements form.



Item number

The item number for the current item.

To date

On the Action tab, the date that the transaction must be postponed or advanced to. On the Futures tab, the date on which the requirement can be fulfilled if the futures messages are considered.

Requirement date

The requirement date for the current transaction. The requirement date is the delivery date for a sales order, the planned ending date for a production order, the forecast date for a forecast lines, and so on, adjusted by any safety margin.

Req. quantity

The total requirement quantity, in the inventory unit attached to the transaction.

Resource consumption

Material consumption for the selected line to the resource.


The scheduled action that can be run on the current item.


The number of days, positive or negative, that the transaction must be pushed forward or backward with regard to the futures messages.

To date

The date the transaction must be postponed or advanced to with regard to the futures messages.

With quantity

The quantity of the item by which the transaction must be increased or decreased with regard to the scheduled action.

To quantity

The quantity that is proposed by the action message.

Requested date

The original requested delivery date, or requirement date.


The futures message result.
