Category validation project assignments (form)

Click Project management and accounting > Setup > Categories > Project categories. Click the Validation button, and then click Assign projects.
Use this form to define validation assignments for the current category. The validation setup controls access limitations. The assignments that you set up in this form make the category available for selected projects or include the category in project/category groups.
You can enable or disable the validation setup for the whole system through the Validation parameter setup in the Project management and accounting parameters form.
The validation setup is applied when you register entries in the hours, cost, and inventory journals.

Validation group |
Maintain the list of which categories are assigned to the selected validation group. Add the current project to existing Project/category validation groups by selecting a group in the Remaining groups area and then selecting the left arrow. The selected group is added in the Selected groups area. Remove a project from a validation group by selecting a group in the Selected groups area and then selecting the right arrow. The selected group is moved to the Remaining groups area. |
Projects |
Maintain the list of which projects are assigned to the selected validation group. Add projects to the set of projects where the current category can be applied by selecting projects in the Remaining projects area and then clicking the left arrow. The selected project is added in the Selected projects area. Remove a project from the group of projects where the current category can be applied by selecting the project in the Selected projects area and then selecting the right arrow. The selected project is moved to the Remaining projects area. |
