Document type setup (form)

Click Organization administration > Setup > Document management > Document types. Click Options.

Use this form to associate a document template with a document type and to select the tables and fields that are associated with the bookmarks in the document template.

Create a document template and associate it with a document type

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Description

Overview

Add tables that can be used for a specific document type.

Field: / Overview

Add fields from the table that you selected on the Overview tab.

The order of fields in this grid is also the order that fields will be entered into documents. To change the transfer order, select a field, and then click either Up or Down.

Field: / General

Set up references to a table other than the table that is used by the document reference.

Use this when there is no relationship between the reference table and the data table. For example, a relationship between the customer table and customer transactions might exist in the system, whereas no relationship exists between the customer table and the main bank information table.

Edit

Open the template file for the selected table. This button is available only when a template file is specified for a table.

Edit (General tab)

Modify the data values for the field for the specific index.

Update

Start the search that is set up from the index and data value, which updates the Result field.

Table

Select tables for the document type.

Table label

The extended table name.

Template file

Browse to locate the template to use with the table.

Data table

Select the table to associate with the document type.

Note

If there is no relationship between the table that you select in this field and the table that you selected on the Overview tab, you must use the fields on the General tab to set up a relationship for the tables.

Data field

Select the field that contains the data to be inserted into the template for the selected document type.

Bookmark

Enter the name of the bookmark that is associated with this field.

Hard return

Select this check box to automatically add a hard return after the bookmark in the document.

Index

Select an index from the table.

Data value

A list of the data values that are entered field-by-field in the index.

Result

Displays the results after you click Update.
