BOM versions (form) [AX 2012]

Click Inventory management > Common > Bills of materials. Click Designer, select a BOM version in the tree, and then click Edit BOM versions.

Use this form to view all existing versions of the selected bill of material (BOM). You can create and approve BOM versions, make BOM versions active, and enter dates for the version.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Description

Create BOM

Create a new BOM. You can copy an existing BOM and use it as the starting point for building the new BOM.

Approve

Open the Approve version form, where you can approve the selected BOM version.

Activation

Activate or inactivate the BOM version. The BOM version must be approved before you can activate it.

Field

Description

BOM

The BOM ID number for the BOM version to be used. System-generated BOM numbers appear when BOM versions are created.

Name

A descriptive name of the BOM version. It is specified when you create BOM versions and can be modified, as needed.

Site

Select the site dimension for the selected BOM version.

From date

Enter the first date that the BOM version is valid. The field is used to manage multiple BOM versions.

To date

Enter the last date that the BOM version is valid.

From qty.

Enter the minimum quantity that this BOM version is valid for.

Active

A selected check box indicates that the selected BOM version is active.

Approved by

The worker who approved the selected BOM version. Click Approve to open the Approve version dialog box.

Approved

A selected check box indicates that the selected BOM version is approved. A BOM version must be approved before you can activate and use it.
