Debug Break At Startup is set

The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool reads the following registry entry to determine whether debugging has been enabled on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem\Debug Break At Startup

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that a value has been set for Debug Break At Startup, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning.

The Debug Break At Startup registry value turns on the debug mode the next time that the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is started. The Microsoft Exchange Information Store uses many resources when it runs in debug mode. It is not a best practice to debug the store in a production environment.

Unless you are actively troubleshooting a store issue with the aid of Microsoft Product Support Services, you should delete the Debug Break At Startup registry value.

To delete the Debug Break At Startup registry key
  1. Open a registry editor, such as Regedit.exe or Regedt32.exe.

  2. Navigate to: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem

  3. In the right pane, locate and delete the Debug Break At Startup value.

  4. Close the registry editor, and restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service to make the change take effect.
