Procedure

To copy the offline address book files from the test computer to the intended outlook computers

  1. Log on to the client computer as the intended user.

  2. On the Outlook 2003 client, copy the offline address book (.oab) files to the following folder: Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

  3. Import the IsDeployed.reg file to the test computer.

  4. If you enabled the PreferANSI registry value on the staging computer, create the same value on the Outlook 2003 computer while you are logged on as the intended Outlook user.

  5. Create a new Cached Exchange Mode profile for the intended Outlook user, but do not start Outlook on the client computer.

  6. (Optional) If you want to disable automatic differential or full offline address book downloads on the Outlook computers, add the DownloadOAB value to the registry of the Outlook computers. For information about this value, see "Outlook 2003 in Cached Exchange Mode" in Configuring Clients for Offline Address Book Use.

  7. Start Outlook on the client computer.
