How to Perform an Exchange-Specific Task in Active Directory Users and Computers

 

You can use the Exchange Task Wizard to perform a variety of tasks that are specific to a user or an object in Active Directory Users and Computers. Exchange Task Wizard performs the following Exchange-specific tasks:

  • Create mailboxes

  • Move mailboxes

  • Delete mailboxes

  • Designate an e-mail address

  • Configure Exchange features

  • Remove Exchange attributes

  • Delete e-mail addresses

  • Hide group membership

  • Associate external accounts

The following procedure outlines how to perform an Exchange-specific task in Active Directory Users and Computers.

Before You Begin

If the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in is installed on a computer that does not have Exchange or the Exchange management tools installed, you will not be able to perform Exchange tasks from that computer.

You start Active Directory Users and Computers from either an Exchange server or from a workstation that has the Exchange System Management Tools installed. For detailed information, see How to Open Active Directory Users and Computers.

Procedure

To perform an Exchange-specific task

  • In Active Directory Users and Computers, right-click a user or group object, and then click Exchange Tasks.
