This section provides information that will help you use commands in the Exchange Management Shell to manage the transport agents that are installed on a computer that has the Hub Transport server role or the Edge Transport server role installed.

Transport agents enable you to install custom software on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 server that processes e-mail messages that pass through the categorizer on Hub Transport servers or on Edge Transport servers. Custom transport agents provide additional functionality, such as anti-spam programs or antivirus programs from third-party vendors.

You can use the following Exchange Management Shell commands to manage the global transport rules:
