The following table provides troubleshooting guidance for the specific error event messages or other issues that you may encounter if you are having problems with Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) 2.0 performance counters.

Event ID 311
An attempt to update AD FS 2.0 performance counters failed.

The AD FS 2.0 performance counters have been turned off, or a problem occurred with Windows Performance Monitoring.

Check the <Windir>\System32\Wbem\Logs (*.log) for issues.
