Exchange Server 2007 Setup Wizard > Readiness Checks Page

Applies to: Exchange Server 2007 SP2, Exchange Server 2007 SP1

Topic Last Modified: 2007-08-14

Use the Readiness Checks page to view the prerequisite checks for the Exchange server roles you have chosen to install.

The Readiness Checks page displays a progress bar and the elapsed time for each of the prerequisite checks. If the wizard finds any errors, you will not be able to install Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. If the wizard returns any warnings, you will still be able to install Exchange 2007.

Click the arrows to show or hide detailed information about each of the prerequisite checks.

You can press CTRL+C to copy the text in the summary pane to the Clipboard. After the text has been copied to the Clipboard, you can paste it into a document or screen.

Click Install to begin the installation.

The wizard uses the engine from the Microsoft Exchange Best Practices Analyzer Tool to check the prerequisites. This engine gathers information about your server and your organization, and then evaluates that information against a set of rules. The rules are stored in the ExBPA.PreReqs.xml file, which is located in the Setup\ServerRoles\Common\<language> directory. If the server can access the Internet, Setup will check for a more recent version of the prerequisites file than the one that is located in the Setup\ServerRoles\Common\<language> directory. If the server cannot access the Internet, or if there is not a more recent file available, Setup will use the local prerequisites file.
