The attempt to bind to the source IP address configured on the Send connector failed. Check the source IP address to make sure it is correct.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that the specified Send connector failed to bind to the specified source IP address.

The source IP address of a Send connector specifies the local IP address that is used to represent the endpoint of an SMTP connection to a remote messaging server. This setting is only valid for Edge Transport servers. This setting does not affect Hub Transport servers. The source IP address of a Send connector is specified by using the SourceIPAddress parameter on the Set-SendConnector cmdlet or the New-SendConnector cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell. The value of the source IP address can be any IP address that is configured on any network adapter in the Edge Transport server. The default value of the SourceIPAddress parameter is 0.0.0.0. This value tells the Send connector to use any available address that is configured on a local network adapter.

User Action

To resolve this error, verify that the value of the SourceIPAddress parameter on the Set-SendConnector cmdlet for the specified Send connector is a valid IP address that exists on a network adapter in the computer that has the Edge Transport server role installed.
