The Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Management Pack for Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) monitors the Windows Application log on computers that are running Exchange Server 2007 and generates this alert when the event or events specified in the following Details table are logged.

To learn more about this event, do one or more of the following:

  • Review the description of the event that includes the variables specific to your environment. From the MOM Operator Console, select this alert, and then click the Properties tab.

  • Review all events that have been logged that meet the criteria of this MOM alert. From the MOM Operator Console, click the Events tab, and then double-click the event in the list for which you want to review the event description.

Explanation

This Warning event indicates that an object cannot be found on the domain controller specified in the event description. This event may occur if the following conditions are true:

  • The object specified in the event description is recently created. However, the object has not been replicated to all the domain controllers.

  • The account that is used to perform the operation does not have the required permissions to access the object specified in the event description.

  • There are network issues in connecting to the domain controller specified in the event description.

  • The domain controller specified in the event description is not working correctly.

User Action

To resolve this warning, do follow one or more of these steps:

  • If this Warning event has been logged because of replication issues, you may wait until the next default replication schedule or force the replication manually. For more information about how to troubleshoot replication problems, see Troubleshooting Active Directory Replication Problems.

  • Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test basic connectivity to the domain controller specified in the event description. Use Ping to isolate network hardware problems and incompatible configurations. Use PathPing to detect packet loss over multiple-hop trips.   • Run the Dcdiag command line tool to test domain controller health. To do this, run dcdiag /s:<Domain Controller Name> at a command prompt on the server that is running Microsoft® Exchange Server. Use the output of Dcdiag to discover the root cause of any failures or warnings that it reports. For more information, see Dcdiag Overview.

  • Review related Error and Warning events in the Application log. These related events may help you find the root cause of this error.
