MOM Rule Name

The Microsoft Exchange Replication Service was configured with an invalid file path.

Explanation

This Error event indicates that the Microsoft® Exchange Replication (MSExchangeRepl) service could not access a database file on the storage group copy, passive node, because the file is deleted or currently unavailable. The database file path that is specified for the storage group copy is a location that does not have an available file even though the status of the storage group copy shows as seeded. The Error event applies to local continuous replication (LCR) only. This event will be triggered on an LCR storage group copy when the Microsoft Exchange Replication service starts:

  • At service startup.

  • After the service resumes replication.

  • After a configuration change.

The database file could be inaccessible if any one of the following conditions is true:

  • There is a file permissions issue.

  • The file was deleted or renamed.

  • The storage that hosts the file is unavailable.

User Action

To resolve the error, follow one or more of these steps:

  • If the file was deleted, reseed the storage group copy on the passive node. For more information, see How to Seed a Local Continuous Replication Copy.

  • If there is a file permission issue, check and fix the issue.

  • If the file was renamed, change the name back to the original or previous file name.

  • If the storage for the database file is unavailable, follow one of these steps:

For more information, see How to Troubleshoot Local Continuous Replication Issues.
