Read-only files have been found in the specified directory. Read-only files cannot be processed by Pickup or Replay. To resolve, remove the read-only files or read-only attributes.

Explanation

This Warning event indicates that one or more read-only message files exist in the Pickup directory or in the Replay directory. Correctly formatted e-mail message files that you copy to the Pickup directory or the Replay directory are submitted for delivery. The Pickup directory is used by administrators for mail flow testing, or by applications that must create and submit their own messages. The Replay directory is used to resubmit messages that administrators export from the queues of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 servers.

User Action

To resolve this warning, do one of the following:

  • Remove the read-only attribute from any message files that exist in the Pickup directory or in the Replay directory.

  • Remove any message files that exist in the Pickup directory or the Replay directory that have the read-only attribute set.
