A Microsoft Exchange clustered resource failed to come online.

Explanation

This alert indicates that an Exchange clustered resource failed to come online.

  • Event 1003 indicates a failure to bring the specified Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 cluster resource online. This event may occur when one or more of the following conditions are true:

    • The specified Exchange Server cluster resource depends on another cluster resource which is not online or could not come online.

    • The specified resource refers to a mailbox or public folder database which may be inconsistent or corrupted.

    • There may be networking issues which prevent the specified resource from contacting an Active Directory server.

    • The user account for the specified resource does not have sufficient permissions to bring the resource online.

  • Event 1019 indicates that the clustered mailbox sever %1 node %2 failed to bring the Exchange cluster resource %3 online. This error may be triggered by multiple causes. Similarly, the method by which you resolve this error varies greatly depending on what triggered this event in your particular Exchange environment.

  • Event 1026 indicates that the Network Name of the cluster group has not been Kerberos-enabled. By default, Network Name resources are NTLM authentication enabled.

  • A VirtualServer is comprised of a network name and IP address resource. The Network Name resource has been updated for Windows Server 2003 to enable the use of Kerberos authentication and the creation of a corresponding computer object. By default, Kerberos authentication and the creation of a computer object for the VirtualServer is disabled and NTLM is used for authentication.
