ADAM is not installed on the Local Computer (Windows Server 2008)

Microsoft Exchange Server Setup cannot continue because Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) is not installed on this computer.
In Windows Server 2008, ADAM is known as Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS). AD LDS is designed specifically for use with directory-enabled applications. AD LDS stores and replicates only application-specific information. AD LDS does not require deployment on a domain controller and does not depend on the Active Directory directory service. AD LDS does not provide network operating system authentication or authorization.
Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010
In Exchange 2007 and in Exchange 2010, the Exchange Transport server role uses AD LDS to store configuration information. When AD LDS is synchronized with Active Directory, it can also be used to perform recipient lookup for message security.
Microsoft Exchange Setup requires that the AD LDS service be installed on the local computer before it can continue.
To resolve this issue, install AD LDS on the local computer that is running the Windows Server 2008 operating system, and then run Exchange Setup again.
To install AD LDS from the Windows Server 2008 command line
Click Start, click Run, and then enter the following command:
cmd.exe /c start /w pkgmgr.exe /iu:"DirectoryServices-ADAM"Run Exchange Setup again.
To install the AD LDS role by using Windows Server 2008 Server Manager
Click Start, and then click Server Manager.
In the console tree, right-click Roles, and then click Add Roles.
Review the information on the Before You Begin page of the Add Roles Wizard, and then click Next.
On the Select Server Roles page, in the Roles list, select the Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services check box, and then click Next.
Follow the instructions in the wizard.
Run Exchange Setup again.
