Backing up Group Policy objects

Client Security uses GPOs to maintain client scanning schedules, update options, and other client configuration parameters. After you create a GPO, you should back it up to a safe location. This can be done using the backup functionality included with the Group Policy Management Console.
To back up a GPO, use the following procedure. For additional information about backing up GPOs, see Back Up, Restore, Copy, and Import in Windows Server 2003 Product Help (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=75170).
To back up a Group Policy object
Open the Group Policy Management Console.
In the console tree, double-click Group Policy Objects in the forest and domain containing the GPO that you want to back up.
To back up a single GPO, right-click the GPO, and then click Back Up. To back up all GPOs in the domain, right-click Group Policy Objects and click Back Up All.
In the Backup Group Policy Object dialog box, in the Location box, enter the path to the location at which you want to store the GPO backups, or click Browse, locate the folder in which you want to store the GPO backups, and then click OK.
In the Description box, type a description for the GPOs that you want to back up, and then click Backup. If you are backing up multiple GPOs, the description applies to all GPOs you back up.
After the operation completes, click OK.
