Configuring MOM agents for multihoming

Applies To: Forefront Client Security

You can configure the MOM agent on a Client Security client computer to report to more than one MOM server. This is called MOM multihoming.

To multihome a Client Security managed computer

  • If a client computer already has the MOM 2005 agent installed, deploy the Client Security agent as described in Deploying Client Security to the client computers. The client setup program will add the configuration information for the Client Security management server to the MOM 2005 agent configuration.

  • If a client computer already has the Client Security agent installed, deploy the MOM 2005 agent as described in Installing Agents Remotely (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=101121) or Installing Agents Manually (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=101122). The agent setup program will add the configuration information for the MOM 2005 agent configuration to the Client Security agent configuration.

  • To install the Client Security agent side-by-side with a System Center Operations Manager 2007 agent, you must install both the System Center Operations Manager agent and the Client Security agent on the target computer. For more information, see How to Deploy the Operations Manager 2007 Agent for Agent-Management of Computers (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=101123).
