MOM administrator tasks

Published: December 16, 2009

Applies To: Forefront Client Security

There are several uncommon tasks that require access to the MOM Administrator console on the collection server; however, no Client Security user role grants a user access to the MOM Administrator console. If you choose not to allow MOM Administrator console access to anyone who performs Client Security administrative tasks, it is recommended that users performing Client Security administrative tasks work with MOM administrators to perform the following tasks:

  • Modifying Client Security alert parameters, such as the Auto-approve pending computers parameter in the Flooding Detected event rule.

  • Manually approving new or disconnected clients.

    noteNote:
Clients are approved automatically unless the Auto-approve pending computers parameter in the Flooding Detected event rule is set to true.

  • Creating and modifying MOM notification groups.
