Use this page to specify whether to use domain Group Policy to configure computers for Essentials 2007 or to require each computer to be configured locally.

This page contains the options described in the following table.

Name Description

Yes, configure a domain-level Group Policy for me

Allows Essentials 2007 to set up domain Group Policy to configure the Management Server and managed computers. You must be logged on with Domain Administrator or Group Policy Administrator credentials to select this option.

No, use local policy to configure computers

To set up local policy, you must create firewall exceptions on the Essentials 2007 management server and on managed computers, if you are using firewalls in your environment. Also, you must import two certificates on any computer on which you installed a remote Essentials 2007 console. For more information, see How to Install a Remote System Center Essentials Console.
